Seka's skincare tip: Look after your neck

Note-to-self: skincare doesn't stop at your jawline...

Your neck and chest are almost always exposed, and yet they rarely receive same level of hydration and sun protection as the face. But the skin there is more delicate and just as, if nor moreso, vulnerable to aging. Eeeek!

The fix is simple: The next time you apply serum, face cream, or sunscreen or give yourself an exfoliating treatment, extend everything down to your d├ęcolletage.

Seka's skincare tip: less is more...

... when it comes to your skincare products!

Smearing on product after product might make you think you're doing the best for your skin, but it isn't worth the effort—or the money. Actually, the more treatments you use, the more likely you're to develop an allergy or irritation - plus the products won't work as well.

A balanced approach is a better option—so focus on a couple products with the ingredients your skin needs most.

For most of us, that's a lightweight antioxidant serum followed by an SPF-infused moisturiser in the morning - and a retinoid followed by a moisturiser (or a moisturiser with retinol) at night.

If you're looking for a good skin care range, we recommend and stock Skinstitut products!

Hair Crush: Emma Stone's bob

Emma Stone looks amazing with any hair colour, any hairstyle really...
blonde, red, brunette, no fringe, a side swept fringe and {as you can see with her latest 'do},  a full fringe - she's one gal that can rock any 'do...

We're loving her latest bob and super-rich copper colour that fades to flecks of gold on the ends - just gorgeous! Loving too? Here's how to copy her look:

Once you've made the cut, {call us to make a colour/cut appointment} here's how to style your new do: When hair is damp {but not dripping!}, separate fringe from the rest of your hair, clipping out of place. Bangs dry super quickly, so you want to dry them first. Use a medium-sized round brush, and angle vertically to brush bangs back and forth like a windshield wiper as you blow dry. This will help add body without eighties level of lift. When your bangs are almost dry, flip the brush - holding horizontally - and wrap your bangs around the barrel. Pull up slightly and spin the brush as you blow dry, pointing the dryer down the hair shaft. It may sound a little tricky, but with a little practice it'll help keep shaggy bangs from blinding you and amp up the shine without using heavy products.  For the rest of your hair: Towel-dry and mix cream whip and curl enhancer in palms. Work through hair, roots to ends. Blowdry hair in hands, tossing around to encourage texture and volume. Scrunch and twist hair in fingers and blowdry the twists up and down for a more defined, wavy texture.

+ if your fringe look greasy before you need a full-on shampoo session, wash your fringe in the sink and style them the same way. Easy!
